I would like to clear a few things up...

So I feel that I have "stirred up some controversy" with the connections I made last time. I would just like to explain it a bit further.

I was making the observation that blogging is actually a kind of guerilla marketing. It's really unconventional if you think about it--it's not a commercial, it's not an advertisement--it's an opinion piece. If a company could get an Op-Ed about their product in some newspaper every week, imagine how great that would be. However, since the internet is not really that old, and blogging is relatively new, it is still innovative.

The customer loyalty part comes along with the "addiction" to blogs. Once you read something you like in a blog, chances are you will come back. Some people read these blogs daily to see what is new in the market. This builds customer loyalty within a blog--which is great for a company to know about. That way they can take advantage of this audience and focus on them to sell to.

I hope this helps...

I agree with your point about the effect of blog. But what I and jazo82 mentioned below is their similiarity.
To my view, guerilla marketing is pretty much comercial and advertisement, which is completely different from blogging as you indicated. I don't think a company can get addiction or loyalty through guerilla marketing.

Blogging isn't guerilla marketing. It's a two-way journal entry. Guerilla marketing is a one-way sneak attack - "in your face" - "here I am" marketing. Blogging sites must me searched out and sought. I have yet to see blogging sights show up on a random website that I may go to for shopping. Stephanie

I totaly agree with you. I think the idea of making people addicted and attached to a thing or an idea would really help it to grow and devolep. I remmeber how the comecial became very popular that some people record them and watch them from time to another.
I think advertizing went so far. Actually, they made us buy things that we do not need and they sugusted solutions to a problem that we do not even have BUT we carried away with it and we buy these things.
